Just to re-cap a bit on an earlier post, the Peculiar Annes are a collaborative artist group formed in May this year. We are Janet Parker-Smith, Cleo Gardener and myself-Claude Jones. Its been so much fun to work collaboratively with other artists, especially as I spend so much time alone in the studio with my own practice. Of course having the collaboration in addition to our own individual practices means more work but its well worth it. So far , our very first sculpture, “Seraph”, has been selected for the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize ( opening Friday 17th of October)
Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize runs from 18th of October to 2nd November. ( opening night Friday 17th of October)
The exhibition is held at the Woollahra Municipal Council, 536 New South Head Road, Double Bay, Sydney
And we were selected to exhibit our installation “Bodies, Ritual, Desire” in “Hidden” sculpture exhibition at Rookwood Cemetery.
The 12th of October is the last day to see “Hidden” at Rookwood Cemetery so if you haven’t seen it yet maybe plan a visit this coming weekend .. you could take a picnic! Otherwise you can check out the catalogue images on the “Hidden” website.
And you can check out some images of our installation right here!
