Claude Jones, Hare Brain, 2016, mixed media on paper, 92 x 143.5 cm

I was jumping about with excitement when I recieved an email confirming that my new work “Hare-Brain” is a finalist in this years National Works on Paper prize . ( just got the news about 40 minutes ago and am still in the process of calming myself down..writing helps ..may have a celebratory glass of wine soon too ..yes good idea..).

The National Works on Paper is a prestigious and important biennial acquisitive art prize and exhibition. It is hosted by the Morington Peninsula Regional Gallery in Victoria and its role is to support and promote contemporary Australian artists working on or with paper. This year there were nearly 1000 applicants and I am one of 66 selected finalists. Wow.
