Originating in New Zealand, Claude Jones studied and established her art career in Australia, where she had gallery representation at Artereal Gallery in Sydney, and at Edwina Corlette Gallery in Brisbane. In 2015, Claude moved to Munich, Germany, where she currently works. She lives with her Texan husband and their Australian cat. Her artwork focuses on the creation of mixed-media sculptures and 2D works that question our complex and often contradictory relationship with the ‘other’, and, in particular, with other animals.

Claude Jones has traveled extensively, studying, teaching, and exhibiting widely. She has had numerous solo exhibitions both in Australia and in Europe. She has undertaken 10 international artist residency programs and has received several grants and awards. Her works are represented in many public and private collections including Artbank, The Art Gallery of New South Wales and The Rhode Island School of Design Museum in the U.S.A.

Claude is a plant-eating pacifist who strongly believes in the need to emancipate all innocent beings. Her art is a form of quiet activism.
